Look a local animal shelters for cats. Shelters around the country are overflowing, and the cats there need more humans to help. If your cat is older or sick, a heating pad may provide comfort. A terra cotta tile about a foot square is ideal. You can warm it with a 15-20 minute stop in your oven, set to approximately 200 degrees. Wrap it in an old towel and put it under your cat’s bed or blanket. Switch towels every few hours if you need to.

Be cautious about using canine products on your feline friend. Cats can have strong negative reactions to a product that is formulated for a dog. This warning applies to products for getting rid of fleas. Dog flea prevention products will kill your cat. After your dog receives a flea treatment, keep your cat away for at least a few hours.

If a cat is outdoors frequently, they need a collar that has a tag. This way, if your cat gets lost and is found by a stranger, that person will know how to contact you. The tag should contain your name and number for contact purposes.

Put the litter box in an ideal location. Don’t put it in a busy area, and keep it away from your cat’s food. Additionally, don’t make the mistake of putting it in a poorly-ventilated area, or the smell will become overpowering. Both you and your pet will appreciate that.

Create a tablecloth for the feline. Cats often like to remove food from their bowl to eat it off to the side. This can result in you having to clean up food outside its bowl if you don’t use a tablecloth. To make clean up a breeze, use a place mat underneath the bowl or a piece of fabric. You’ll be able to pick it up easily and shake the excess food into the trash.

Cats generally will meow for a reason. Learning about your cat’s meows will be easier the longer you know her. They may want outside or may be hungry. By giving her the proper amount of attention you can better attend to her needs.

You should be proud to take care of your kitty. You’re offering your home and love to an animal that desperately needs it. You’re making a friend for the duration of their life. If you care for your cat, it will return the favour.…
